Hours: Part-Time, 20 hours/week, 8 hour daysLocation: Greensboro, NCEDUCATION:Required:High School Diploma or equivalentJOB SUMMARYThis position is responsible for data entry, office and hospital charge capture, tracking and correcting registration and claim errors, charge reconciliation, accounts receivable monitoring, patient credit services, pre-certification services, performing daily, weekly, and monthly billing reports, and monitoring work volume, accuracy, and efficiency.MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIESAnswers patient inquiries regarding all insurance claims and transactions to patient accounts. 10 %Data entry of physician charges. 25 %Demonstrates compliance with the Health System cultural behaviors and standards that constitute model behavior expected of our employees. 10 %Identifies and resolves any claims processing issues such as appeals, medical records requests, and COB questionnaires and/or pre-existing condition questionnaires. 10 %Maintains acceptable level of quality and production standards as determined by supervisory review. 15 %Maintains current working knowledge of ICD-9, CPT-4, CCI, and HCPS codes. Remains abreast of coding requirements of all third party payers. 10 %Performs daily close which includes: deposit journals and reports, balance monies and send through cash track system, take deposit as needed to bank. Handles month end procedures and close out. 10 %Understands insurance, charge posting, payments, adjustments, denials and related information in the system and discuss this information with patients and insurance companies with intellect through customer service calls. 10 %WORKING CONDITIONSOccurs under one-third of the timeExposure to bloodborne pathogens Hazardous waste and/or toxic/caustic chemicalsFumes or airborne particles iCARE - Commitments to Care.Communication I will create and engage in conversations of possibility.
