Primary purpose:

Responsible for the administrative support of the safe and quality-conscious transfer of cargo to or from vessels, railcars, trucks and storage facilities. Assure the work being performed consistently meets or exceeds the expectations of the Company, customers, as well as published policies and procedures

Essential duties and responsibilities:

- Receive and process customer orders accurately and in a timely manner.

- Maintain filing process to ensure complete and timely retrieval of information.

- Receive customer requests, match information to orders, dispatch, complete and file bill of ladings.

- Maintain product inventory data and report accurately and timely to management and customers.

- Must maintain professional, customer service oriented communications with customers and drivers.

- Must take direction from supervision and work cooperatively with others.

- Perform any other type of terminal function as instructed by the supervisor.

- Must report to work and on time as scheduled.

Position Requirements

Education:

High School diploma or GED is required. 2 year degree or additional equivalent college coursework.

Experience / specific knowledge:

A minimum of one year of experience in a customer service administrative role is required.

Previous history in warehouse distribution is preferred.

Experience doing physical inventories is a plus.

Certifications, licenses, registrations:

Must meet the criteria to maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) as required by USCG/DHS regulations.

Competencies, skills, and abilities:

Good oral and written communication skills.

Must have strong computer skills and proficiency with PC software i.e.: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and databases.

Through work history, must demonstrate the ability to execute customer orders and maintain necessary records.

Must take direction from supervision and work cooperatively with others.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent may be required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or controls, reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Working conditions:

The incumbent will generally be assigned to work indoors in a terminal operations setting but will require traversing the facility in inclement weather conditions to verify placements, complete inventories, etc.

Position is generally assigned a daytime schedule but will be required to work extended hours to include nights and weekends.

•Ability to use office equipment (fax, copier, scanner, i.e.) •Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules and follow work rules.

•Must possess excellent customer service skills.

•Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.

•Ability to effectively and professionally present and collect information from customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
