CIVIL ENGINEER INTERN Student will work part-time around their school schedule and full-time in the Summer. PRIMARY DUTIES •Under direct supervision, the Co-Op will be required to learn and manipulate the main drawing file archive system (Adept).•Using the Adept system, the Co-Op will retrieve, plot, and archive drawing files as necessary.•Co-Op will be expected to perform basic drafting duties such as creating new drawings and updating existing. Dependent upon experience, the position will also be required to develop schematics, layout drawings, and general assembly drawings.•The position will support engineering project activities and tasks such as data collection, field measurements, project design meeting attendance, and working with mainframe systems to support ordering of parts and components.•It is required that the Intern be acclimated to and work in both an office setting and the heavy industrial manufacturing mill setting.•Appropriate safety training must be attended (provided by Carpenter) and adhered to. REQUIREMENTS •Qualified students need to be currently enrolled in a college program and have a minimum 2.75 GPA to be considered.•Majors in Civil Engineering.•Knowledge or experience with AutoCAD and Inventor 2007 is preferred but not required.•Experience with Microsoft Office•General Civil Engineering coursework: Structural Analysis and Design of Steel Structures.•Employment offers are contingent upon the successful completion of Carpenter's pre-employment selection process, which includes a drug and alcohol screen.
