Overview
The Change Management / CMDB Administrator role and responsibilities include: 
 
Change Management
 
The Change Manager acts as a facilitator, responsible for the overall change management process.  Works with the IT organization to drive adoption of the process and communicates the change plan.  The change manager is also the manager of the problem resolution process
 
Primary responsibilities: 

Authorize and approve minor/low change
Coordinate and conduct meetings with Change advisory board (CAB) to discuss higher risk changes
Authority to implement or reject a change
Ensures that all the activities designed to implement the change are as per the standards. The policies and procedures should be well defined, recognized and reviewed
Prepare Change Summary Sheet that summarizes all RFC\u2019s. This sheet helps the CAB team to understand and evaluate the proposed change
Track and produce monthly metric reporting on change performance
Leads the problem resolution process

Skills and Qualifications:

ITIL V3 frame work knowledge and training preferred
A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process
Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent active listening skills
Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal

CMDB Administrator
 
The Configuration Management Database Administrator will be responsible for implementing, configuring and maintaining all CMDB (Configuration Management Database) processes, work instructions and activities. This will be done in compliance with the information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) V3 framework. This role owns the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and works with the Customers to define and implement all mechanisms needed to ensure full control of the customer's Configurable Items.  Maintain precise documentation and accurate usage of the CMDB.  Assist in defining and registering of configuration items (CIs); the appropriate level of attributes, and relationships required to support IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
 
Primary responsibilities:  

Enact system audit practices and conduct audits to ensure data integrity
Reconcile the CMDB data when exceptions are noted between CMDB, discovery information, and other authoritative production data repositories
Support design, development, and implementation of automated processes for gathering, populating, and maintaining CMDB data
Recommend robust configuration management procedures and standards
Ensure ITSM and CMDB alignment with ITIL v3 framework
Communicate CMDB activities to enhance general awareness of processes and standards

Skills and Qualifications:

Experience in both hardware and software asset and configuration management as well as knowledge of IT service management processes
Experience with ServiceNow or later or a similar industry solution
Familiar with any of the following: discovery products including Microsoft SCCM, ServiceNow, LAN Sweeper, or similar industry solution
Knowledge of MS SQL, query-writing, reporting tools (ie: Crystal Reports, BIRT, or a similar industry solution) relational databases
Candidates must have excellent organizational, communication, and problem solving skills. Candidates should have proven understanding of IT business needs and knowledge of IT industry standard best practices
The ideal candidate will hold ITIL Foundation v3 certification and have applied knowledge of real-world environments in both the Service Management focus area and have

Position Purpose and Requirements
Generates ad hoc reports and regular datasets or report information for end-users using system tools and database or data warehouse queries and scripts. Integrates data from multiple sources to produce requested or required data elements. Programs and maintains report forms and formats, information dashboards, data generators, canned reports and other end-user information portals or resources. May create specifications for reports based on business requests.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of information technology data operations experience
3 years of lead experience

OR

Master's degree and at least 3 years of information technology data operations experience
3 years of lead experience

OR

At least 7 yrs of information technology data operations experience
3 years of lead experience.
