As a

Strategic Sourcing Category Manager 1, you will have responsibility to execute

transactions between Gap business units and suppliers for acquisition of

software licensing and related support and professional services.  You will manage all aspects of negotiating contract

terms and pricing, as well as perform spend and data analysis, ensure process

and policy compliance, perform market research, and facilitate ongoing support.  Category Managers also play an active role in

process and system improvements within Strategic Sourcing, in collaboration

with suppliers and business partners.

Understand

supply and demand and routinely conduct research to stay informed of market

conditionsContribute

to and support the achievement of defined category performance targetsAssist business

partners and sourcing teammates with supplier selection, price negotiation, and

bid evaluation processesLiaise

with Legal to negotiate terms of contracts between the supplier and the

businessParticipate

in negotiation strategy development and the competitive negotiation process

including execution of NDAs, SOWs, MSAs, etc.Participate

in or lead competitive RFXs, leveraging Sourcing Execution Center as necessaryCommunicate

regularly and proactively with business partners and other stakeholdersEvaluate

and measure vendor performance to ensure performance meets expectations,

including lead time, contract commitment, etc.Provide

ongoing support for supplier onboarding and relationship buildingMaintain

positive relationships with vendors and visit vendor sites, as appropriateSupport

cyclical and ad-hoc supplier business reviewsProvide

input and data analysis on the sourcing process, spend management, and benefitsBuild

relationships and effectively partner across varied functions with internal

stakeholders, external suppliers, agencies, and colleagues to influence changeLeverage

industry associations, peers and stakeholders to identify and implement category

best practicesProactively

identify and recommend category sourcing strategiesIdentify

opportunities and support planning, implementation and execution of category

strategiesSupport

the development, evaluation, and presentation of business case and cost/benefit

analysis to stakeholders on sourcing process, spend management, and benefitsPartner

with leaders to develop plans for implementation and change management for departmental

initiatives

such as Tools/Technology, Culture, People and Process, etc Apply

resourcefulness, collaboration and influencing skills to SaaS, PaaS and IaaS

contracts, which may cross business partner departments and may overlap with

other sourcing categoriesThis

role may require coordination of software initiatives within GapTech as well as

within or across multiple brands

 

KEY

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Understand and follow

appropriate elements of category strategyMaintain constructive

working relationships with Legal, Finance, GapTech and brandsProactively advance the

health of business partner relationshipsProactively manage

relationships with key suppliers Provide input and support for

continuous improvement programs within the department','!*!Minimum of 2 years’

professional experience in management consulting, strategic sourcing, supply

chain, or equivalent experienceBachelor's degree in

business administration, supply chain management, or related discipline; MBA or

advanced degree preferredExperience in a dynamic

organization with experience in sourcingFamiliarity with

various software licensing models (perpetual, subscription, SaaS, etc.)Familiarity with asset

management and cloud computing conceptsAbility to interpret

and utilize data; can tell a story with dataExcellent planning and

prioritization skills with ability to adapt to change quicklyAbility to interact

with senior leaders and demonstrate a professional presenceDemonstrated ability to

effectively handle issues and challenging situations Experience planning and

leading negotiations a plus       Ability to learn and

quickly develop subject matter expertise
