BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY:  The Category Management Professional, under limited supervision, performs complex tasks relating to the lifecycle management of company owned equipment and materials and management of company’s 3rd party materials and services provider.  Provides support in managing specific tasks such as analysis of market intelligence, contract management, supplier relationship management and performance management. 

EDUCATION  Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or in other applicable field; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree

EXPERIENCE  Requires a minimum of 5 years of supply chain or other related experience; industry experience preferred

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with other Supply Chain functions and stakeholders in developing and executing a comprehensive strategy supporting this category

• Management of company owned materials and equipment in accordance with company policies and guidelines including performing physical inventories and sales at specified locations (may include remote locations requiring travel) and recording appropriate financial transactions

• Gather, interpret and provide market intelligence information to stakeholders

• Assist in managing demand planning in collaboration with stakeholders and suppliers

• Monitor supplier performance by collecting performance data through reports, internal customer surveys, and ad hoc feedback from stakeholders and hold accountable

• Influence cross functional teams in developing and implementing continuous business improvement process

• Assist in developing and monitoring strategies for maximizing supplier product line integration into the business to increase efficiency and value

• Act as business liaison between suppliers and company business units

• Initiate change and communicate the benefits of change to overcome resistance

• Assist with solving complex business and technical problems, demonstrating root cause analysis and critical thinking ability

• Coordinate movement of materials and equipment through company’s logistictis department

• Identify risks, trends and opportunities, to make recommendations adding value and improving efficiency in materials handling

• In depth knowledge of industry best practices in the life cycle management of equipmemt and materials including Total Cost of Ownership and inventory modeling

• Can organize and manage multiple concurrent projects assessing and prioritizing based on value add and criticality to the business

• Proactively initiates and completes assignments on time

• Ability to build relationships and mentor, guide and coach more junior staff

• Advanced level computer skills in SAP and Microsoft Office

• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

• Ability to present information at all levels of the organization formally and informally

• Able to travel as required

• Understanding of supplier relationship management (SRM) process and concepts, business performance measurements (KPIs), and industry/business acumen

• Oil and gas industry and materials management experience preferred
