Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for the processing of all new Life insurance applications for the Institutional Insurance Bank-Owned and Corporate-Owned Life Insurance products from case submission through policy issuance and delivery. This includes quality review of submitted application paperwork, data entry, ordering and follow-up on requirements necessary for funding approval, premium management, policy issue and handling policy delivery requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Case Management

Organize and prioritize workload to ensure case is processed, issued, and placed in a timely manner while maintaining frequent communication to manage customer expectations appropriately.

Facilitate the 1035 exchange process from initial review to requesting funds and following up with replacing companies for any additional requirements necessary for the insurance and placing inforce of the policy.

Adhere to new business procedures and remain current with changes as they occur.

Work closely with systems development team, detailing business requirements pertaining to the new business processes.

Actively participate in team huddles to ensure we are meeting and exceeding our customer centric metrics.

Quality Review of Submitted New Business Paperwork

Review all application paperwork and supporting documents for completeness, i.e., forms, signatures, policy criteria, etc.

Prepare amendments, letters, memos, and other correspondence as required.

Track the status of the applications and follows-up on outstanding requirements.

Validate that Broker/Agent licensing, contracting and AML information is active and current.

Coordinate gathering of underwriting requirements by interacting with brokers, agents, outside medical vendors, and underwriters.

Data Entry

Analyze and interpret all data related to the proposed clients’ application.

Enter all Group and Policy level data into the new business Workflow and Administration Systems.

Set up Broker/Agent commission structure.

Image all required new business paperwork, correspondence, and workbook/upload files.

Coordinate initial and downstream accounting entries related to the new business process.

Policy Issue and Delivery

Verify all system data entry is complete and system requirements have been satisfied.

Reconcile that the wire/check amount received matches the expected premium.

Apply premium and initiate issue of the policies within the administration system.

Perform quality review of policy form output and associated documents for correctness.

Assemble policy & prepare delivery requirements;

Submit policy for mailing; track, monitor and process all policy delivery receipt requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Management, etc.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent time management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy; the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines is critical.

High level of technical aptitude & PC skills; must be proficient working with Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and SharePoint.

Ability to collaborate and maintain strong working relationships.

Flexible, can-do attitude, self-motivated, self-sufficient and ability to work effectively with peers and business partners.

Must be able to work independently AND be a strong team player.

Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or the future.

Knowledge of 1035 Exchange processing, SEC 38a-1, tax and state regulations
