Description:

Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

Qualifications

Requires an associate's degree and is certified as a registered nurse. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Community Health Systems is founded with the first purchase of a hospital in May 1985. June 2000: Community Health Systems, Inc. is taken public for the second time on the New York Stock Exchange trading under the symbol CYH with an initial offering price of $13 per share. July 2007: Community Health Systems, Inc. completes the acquisition of Triad Hospitals, Inc. adding more than 50 hospitals and nearly doubling the size of the organization. The acquisition includes subsidiary Quorum Health Resources, LLC (QHR), a hospital management and consulting company with approximately 150 independent community hospital clients. January 2014: Community Health Systems, Inc. completes the acquisition of Health Management Associates, Inc., adding approximately 70 hospitals to the organization.
