OVERVIEW

 

 

The position is responsible for hiring, training, and execution of functions to manage equipment moves on the Gallatin campus to support multiple Distribution Centers in a customer focused environment.  This individual will manage tools, processes, and lead a team to provide effective use of transportation resources to meet inbound and outbound deadlines.  The position interacts with multiple internal work groups and must be able to navigate communication to multiple business leaders to ensure brand expectations are met.  The team is comprised of at least 6 process coordinators and supports 3 shifts up to 7 days per week.  The CT Supervisor manages cost for the yard shunter services, overtime, trailer utilization, and other processes that result in company savings while being product obsessed.

  The CT Supervisor will be a part of the Transportation Hub team that also owns pool store delivery and inland trans-load operations.  The expectation will be the Supervisor contributes to the success of all Hub functions.  This individual must be a strong communicator and able to speak to all levels of the organization about various issues that may impact the customer or brands.  The role will include responsibilities that contribute to all brands for retail distribution and small parcel direct to customer distribution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide direction and establish clear priorities to guide operational, reporting, exception management and service performance

Meet or exceed all customer, dashboard and operational performance/quality standards

Leverage cost analysis to support decision-making and identify cost reduction opportunities without jeopardizing service

Support Brand-specific initiatives and programs

Accountable for operational performance and measures regularly making adjustments as required to ensure team meets performance standards

Present analysis of operational issues and solutions in a creative and logical manner

Strengthen employee engagement by creating a collaborative/positive work environment with strong two-way communication (employee & leadership, between shifts, and across departments) that encourages diverse thought

Manage time, performance and development of direct reports through clear goal-setting/PPA process, Talent Profiles, formal quarterly feedback, monthly touchbase meetings (minimum frequency), and on-going informal feedback/recognition with quality and timeliness

Build positive professional partnerships (internal & external) to enhance work-flow, decision-making, and collaboration

Build and enhance relationships with DC staff at all levels

Attend weekly DC planning meetings and participate in brand/inbound calls

Coordinate the development of weekly optimization strategy among the DCs and LCC, ensuring alignment

Partners with line-haul providers, Over-the-Road drivers and 3PL providers to ensure successful execution

Establish targets for trailer pool and forecast pool requirements and work with line-haul providers to ensure trailer pool requirements are sustained ','!*!KEY EXPERIENCES

Five to seven years of progressive responsibility within Logistics / Transportation discipline strongly preferred

Two to five years professional experience leading others

Project leadership experience

Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment

Demonstrated team leadership

HS Diploma required

BA/BS degree in Engineering, Logistics/Transportation, or Business is preferred.

Knowledge of Supply Chain, Transportation Management (TMS), and Warehouse Management (WMS) processes and systems preferred

Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations preferred
