Cabela’s has an opening for a Health & Safety Coordinator at our Tooele, UT Distribution Center.

Position Overview:

Administers or manages site required drug and/or alcohol screenings, Worker's Compensation, FMLA/STD, return to work programs, and the delivery of wellness and health services programs to outfitters. Contributes to Cabela’s overall safety program by conducting and overseeing safety programs and activities which includes assisting leadership team with investigating and tracking all incidents.

Essential Job Functions:

Provides first aid treatment for work related injuries of outfitters. Administers and manages workers' compensation program for site. Works in collaboration with medical community, leadership team, outfitters, workers' compensation insurance company and corporate to ensure care is given and return to work is achieved. Maintains integrity of EMT bags and site first aid kits.

Conducts or facilitates site required screenings, including post-offer and seasonal return drug tests, random, post-accident, post-injury, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing when appropriate.

Contributes to Cabela’s overall safety program through the ongoing development of company-wide safety policies, procedures, and training. Partners with operations to ensure facility is in adherence to OSHA Standards as well as Federal, State and Local Laws and Safety Regulations. Assists in conducting facility safety inspections including review of compliance, hazard analysis and safe work practices. Conducts safety meetings and addresses safety issues to achieve resolution. Encourages participation from safety committee members and leadership team to proactively promote safety measures.

Assists leadership team with investigating and tracking all incidents including employee injuries, machine incidents and near misses. Partners with operations and assists in planning and implementing changes to reduce and/or eliminate exposure in specific target areas.

Oversees site health related programs to include weight loss, flu shots, blood pressure checks, blood drives, and similar programs and services. Initiates and delivers corporate wellness programs and activities.

Manages short-term disability and family medical leave program for site. Ensures outfitters are aware of and appropriately use benefits available to them.

Maintains appropriate company reports for regulatory compliance and business review. Develops, maintains, and interprets reports as necessary. Maintains confidential employee health information and records.


High School Diploma or Equivalent

2 to 4 Years Experience

CPR/AED Certified (Required)

First Aid Certified (Required)

OSHA 30 Hour Class (Preferred)

Experience in Distribution Center or related work environment (Preferred)
