RESPONSIBILITES SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:Assists the lead person in directing the maintenance activities of assigned personnel. Disassembles, inspects, and reassembles assigned engines and components as required to include rigging and accomplishing work cards. Troubleshoots, removes, and installs engine components on engines. Engine run up qualified on assigned aircraft, as specified. Performs engine trims, troubleshooting, leak check, and adjustments. Removes and reinstalls boat tails, gearboxes, engines, and assists other shops troubleshooting systems. Repairs off station aircraft as required. Maintains and repairs trim pad, hush house, and test cell. Performs engine test cell operations to include run up qualification on assigned engines, removal and installations, troubleshooting, leak checks, component changes, and riggi ng. Annotates maintenance actions in engine and aircraft records and is proficient in IMDS documentation. Conducts in-process inspections of the work of other engine mechanics. Enforces compliance with all maintenance data requirements. Assists in training assigned engine mechanics as required. In addition, assists PMEL in test cell calibration and POL in refueling storage tanks. Performs corrosion tasks (cleaning, painting, etc.) on all assigned equipment. Performs daily documentation of maintenance and inspections. In coordination with Management and the training specialist, provides on-the-job training of employees and evaluation of employee qualifications. May be required to be qualified on different MDS aircraft. May be selected to perform special certifications including Red X inspections. Shall assist other personnel and work centers as directed . Must promote Company values, policies, and standards of conduct. Must be customer oriented and ensure professional coordination with Operations and other base agencies. Shall perform other duties assigned to include TOY and travel. Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times. When assigned to a Sortie Generation Flight, required to be qualified in APG activities. Must be able to work day shift, night shift, or weekend duty as required. Receives cross-utilization training (CUT) and is qualified to perform those maintenance tasks. *LI-JO2*INDQualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must have an in-depth and functional knowledgeof assigned engine/accessory maintenance. Must be highly proficient in the use of technical orders, code manuals, and inspection work cards. Completion of high schoolor the equivalent is required. Specialized formal courses in aircraft enginemaintenance technology are required. In lieu of formal training, a minimum of four years recent experience in aviation maintenance as an enginemechanic or equivalent and completion of Air Force3 Level CDC Engine Mechanic Course is required.An understanding of engine test cell operations is required. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Extensive troubleshooting or related experience is required. Must be able to wear auditory protection devices and achievepassing scores on engine/test cell qualification tests as required for specific area assigned. Must be able to obtain and maintaina flight line driver's licenseand may be requiredto obtain and maintain a class COL. Physical exertionrequirement is medium.Must have a minimum of four years recent experience on one or more of the followingfor the specific area and engines assigned:(1) SGF - operating assigned installed aircraft engines, as specified to include trimming andtroubleshooting(2) JEIM Shop/Accessory Shops/Test Cell- disassembling, inspecting and reassembling assignedengines or accessories and operating assigned engines on test cell.
