Ability to make sound decisions using discretion and independent judgement.

Makes decisions on quantities purchased, delivery schedules, and price negotiations in coordination with Operations, Marketing, Sales, Product Development, Accounting and other departments. Some sourcing and resourcing may be involved.

Maintains effective and professional relationships with suppliers, actual and potential.

Conducts correspondence with suppliers involving delivery costs or quotations.

Handles negotiations within delegated authority.

Assures supplier selection and products purchased meet the basic policies and standard practices of the company. The orderly replacement of nonstandard products “”by attrition”” is to occur when cost effective and operating commitments can be met.

Must obtain and purchase all goods at the lowest possible total end-use cost, considering guidelines of price, service, quality, and delivery.

Negotiates the return of rejected equipment or supplies to suppliers.

Enforces punctual delivery of specified goods and services in correct quantities.

Ability to quickly gain the knowledge of products purchased, including features, benefits, use, quality and some technical aspects of purchased product manufacture and make up.

Ability to execute purchase orders error free with high degree of accuracy and cohesiveness in communication of company requirements and commitments binding and obligating both the company and the supplier.

The work environment requires high energy multi-tasking with several complex projects, products, processes and information systems, all leading to repetitive high impact on the financial success of the company.

Requires high level of accurate output daily to secure company needs.

Requires initiative and creativity. Position requires a high degree of independent thought analysis and execution based on company policy and customer needs.

The combination of which can lead to new process, procedures, products, bills of material and solutions which may not currently exist. Willingness and ability to explore and develop these solutions is essential.

Working harmoniously in cooperation with all departments, customers and suppliers is required. Requires team participation in projects and the ability to get along with others. Positive attitude and respect of others is required.

Leading supplier, plant and customer service behavior and performance is a critical success factor to achieving key performance indicators of fill rates, inventory turns and proper use of working capital.

Knowledge in international buying is a plus.

Knowledge in mechanical and metal trades, as well as colorant and resin commodities and packaging a plus.

International as well as domestic transportation knowledge also a plus.

Possess the ability to write processes and procedures to be used by multi- functional departments at Impact as well as both domestic and international vendors.

Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO and manage root cause analysis and corrective action procedures

Develop and manage cross functional teams in Product Development as related to existing and new products.

Ability to manage component products, WIP, F.G., deliveries and pricing to assist in planning, scheduling, invoice reconciliations, etc.

Additional Responsibilities * Must demonstrate and practice good public relations by giving all callers and visitors courteous treatment.

Performs other related duties as assigned by supervision.


Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing/Materials Management or Information Systems (with a minor in Supply Chain Management or Purchasing/Materials Management).

Prefer a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Strong communication and computer skills.

Candidate must be proactive, action oriented and analytical.

Knowledge of Infor A Plus, Distribution Requirements Planning, AS400 query writing, SQL desired.

Microsoft Office experience with deep knowledge of Excel required.

MBA, CSCM, CPIM or CPM a plus.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
