Buyer 111, for our Tulsa, Oklahoma location.

In our organization, the Buyer 111 has a critical and challenging role in helping achieve innovation and meeting our commitments.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for negotiating and procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies for Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviews requisitions and confers with vendors to obtain product or services such as negotiating price, availability, and delivery.

• Research domestic and overseas suppliers for competitive pricing and deliveries.

• Manages vendor relations and leads dispute negotiations.

• Handle any manufacturing, delivery, or accounting problems that may arise.

• Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.

• Prepares purchase or bid requests.

• Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.

• Utilizes computerized purchasing and non-conformance systems.

• Resolves defective or unacceptable goods or services with affected OSI personnel and others to determine the issue and get corrective action from vendor.

• Expedites delivery of goods to users.

• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor degree with at least 5-7 years previous purchasing experience in manufacturing environment; or at least 9 years of previous purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment without a degree.

• At least 5 years previous purchasing experience related to engineered components (i.e. forgings, castings, machined parts).

• Experience with global sourcing is desirable.

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Proficient using computers, including Outlook email, Excel and Word.

• Basic mathematical skills.

• Ability to hand multiple tasks at one time.

• Detail oriented.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged sitting.

• Some walking.
