This position is responsible for purchasing and negotiating the procurement of materials and supplies from vendors. Candidate will evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine the most efficient and cost effective supplies. Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in regards to procurement functions. Reports to the Materials Manager
Roles & Responsibilities:
\tCoordinate and schedule manufacturing of product to assure on-time delivery to customers utilizing SAP.
\tHelp Purchasing Manager evaluate and develop current and potential suppliers to assure CMC a continued flow of quality products, materials, and supplies at the best price and delivery possible.
\tMeet regularly with sales representatives of new and existing suppliers. Travel may be required.
\tPlace purchase orders for materials necessary for production, including extrusion, shapes, covers, and belts, as directed by the materials manager, manufacturing schedulers, and planners.
\tFollow-up and expedite delivery on purchase orders placed.
\tApprove payment of invoices from suppliers in absence of Purchasing Manager.
\tEvaluate the suppliers Vendor Performance Ratings and notify the suppliers regularly of their performance rating.
\tOther duties as directed by management.
Skills & Qualifications:
\tBachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
\t5 years related experience in procurement
\tStrong written and verbal communications skills.
\tMust have strong Microsoft Office, e-mail and other PC application skills.
\tProblem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
\tGathers and analyzes information skillfully
\tDevelops alternative solutions.
\tWorks well in group problem solving situations.
