The Business Systems Analyst partners with internal groups to gather business requirements, define and document business processes, participate in software design, and support all phases of software implementation.

The Business Systems Analyst is a detail oriented person required to elicit and document business requirements and processes, develop and review design specifications, define and execute test plans, and follow change management process.

Organizes and leads team meetings as required, and publishes minutes, action items, and issues.

Coordinates and documents system issue resolution, from identification and documentation through resolution. Escalate issues to department management as required.

Understands and grasps both the technical and functional (procedural) aspects of large Projects. Analyzes documents and presents information as required. Constructs executive summary level communications under tight deadlines.

Participates as a team member on Projects led and managed by other groups.

Provides a high degree of autonomy in the performance of duties, working effectively with little supervision at times.

May include some evenings and weekends when necessary. Up to 25% domestic travel required.


Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.

Education/Experience/Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and/or High School Diploma with equivalent experience required.

5 years of experience in a large environment, sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.

Experience in implementing/upgrading large enterprise systems (e.g. payroll, financials, infrastructure, etc.) is required. PeopleSoft/Oracle system experience is a plus.

Experience working in a complex web-based organization that includes internet, extranet, and SharePoint environments is a plus.

Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing

Highly proficient in MS Office products, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, etc.

Must understand Systems Development Life Cycle and be able to clearly articulate roles, project goals and timelines

Understands the responsibilities of the IT function, standard project methodologies (Waterfall/Agile) and change management procedures

Strong problem solving and analytical skills are required

Strong customer and results orientation

Ability to effectively correspond, present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public at all levels and across diverse cultures.

Ability to be an effective team member.

Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.
