WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THIS POSITION? *Strong internal candidate identified.*  The Hartford's Enterprise Data Office - Business Intelligence & Analytics Enablement team is seeking a Consultant to support the Enterprise Business Intelligence and Analytics Tools Team. In this full-time, permanent position, the consultant will be responsible for administrating Self Service BI infrastructure through the Server interface, scripting and other tools.  The primary responsibility of this role is day to day administration of our Tableau Server and other BI applications. The time required for this part of the job will fluctuate (generally ~50%), but there will be additional opportunities to pursue work aligned with your learning and development interests such as working with Big Data, engaging in Proof of Concepts or consulting with the business. The ideal candidate will enjoy problem solving and learning new things. You will have the opportunity to learn on the job if you are unfamiliar with some of the technologies we use. Our team is often breaking new ground to figure out the right solution to our problems and as such, we are continuously learning together.  RESPONSIBILITIES: Handle the Technical Administration of Self-Service BI Platforms(e.g. Tableau) used across the EnterpriseSoftware/Hardware upgrades, driver installations, monitoring, access control, and other tasksIdentify and solution repetitive tasks or problems that occur using our stack of technologies and programming language (Python).Maintain technical documentation on Server configurationHelp to promote data quality, integrity and reliability throughout the companyCreate Dashboards for monitoring and that provide insight into what is going on with our applications.Utilize a ticketing process to support our Business areas requests.Assist in the identification, assessment and rollout of new Self Service tools to support the Enterprise Strategy.Provide technical consulting to our user base on best practices, and proper site administration of their environment.Support of our applications will be the primary focus for this role, but there were also be exposure to our sister team, Big Data & Analytic Support, with exposure to Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, H20, Python, and R.Perform other job-related duties as assignedQualificationsWHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS?Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or other related field 3-5 years of experience in programming, development, and/or with various business intelligence and analytics tools such as MSBI, Tableau, Qlikview, Alteryx, IBM Cognos,  SAS, Business Objects, R, R-Shiny, Python, etc. is a plusScripting experienceTraining material creation and deliveryComfortable working independently and collaboratively in an ambiguous environmentStrong team player that has a direct approach and is solution orientedStrong collaboration skills and proven ability to work across organizations to deliver high quality outcomesProven technical, analytical, and communication skillsNatural curiosity with a strong desire to learn, maintain, and apply knowledgeMust have initiative and strive for continuous improvement.
