We are seeking a Business Development Manager

to join our Sales

IN A NUTSHELL

In this position as our Business Development Manager, you will partner with and report to, the Director of Business Development to drive the Watkins Wellness dealer development strategy including horizontal growth and solidifying new selling locations resulting in an overall increase in spa unit sales for the Hot Spring Spas, Caldera Spas, Freeflow Spas, and Fantasy Spas brands, in the Eastern half of North America. Our ideal candidate will reside anywhere in the Eastern half of the United States; however, we can be flexible across the United States, if you're the right person for this role.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Are you a hunter

? Working closely with our Sales managers and Director of Business Development, you will manage the Watkins Wellness dealer development (prospecting) effort to establish new dealerships/selling locations in our Specialty Retail distribution channel.

Are you market savvy

? You'll be responsible for identifying open market opportunities for the individual brands, and making strategic, long-term, retail relationship decisions with prospects within these markets. You will also be looked upon to provide market feedback, including reports on prospecting status and achievements, to management and key players within the organization.

Are you analytical

? You will be responsible for analyzing sales reports and identifying product sales opportunities for our specialty brands. You'll also maintain the business development records and associated documents, ensuring that they are current, accurate and up to date.

Can you develop winning strategies

? This position requires you to strategize and manage prospecting plans with our Regional Sales Managers and North American Sales Management team, and ultimately achieve our established annual prospecting goals for the various brands.

Are you a team-player

? As part of our broader Sales team we'd expect you to participate in corporate sales meetings, industry trade shows, dealer meetings and other events when appropriate. You will also host visits for prospective dealers at our Watkins Wellness headquarters/factory, and offer support to our Sales team in various trainings and meetings.

Can you manage a budget

? You will be responsible for managing and working within allocated promotional budgets.

Do you enjoy travel

? You will travel to visit with prospective dealers and for other related Sales events, mostly throughout U.S., Canada, and, on occasion, internationally.

Are you customer-focused

? Attracting new customers and being able to build strong, positive relationships with prospective and existing customers is a must. You'll also need to be knowledgeable of our existing customer base and market dynamics, and have the ability to effectively manage any distribution channel conflict.

Can you inspire

others? When needed, you will be asked to present compelling and inspiring content to prospective dealers, existing dealers, Sales managers, etc.

Are you creative

? We are looking for someone who can develop programs, tools, presentations, etc. aimed at helping our Regional Sales Managers to build upon and improve their ability and effectiveness to prospect for new business in an ever-changing retail environment.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Bachelor's Degree preferred; the equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

3-5 years of demonstrated success working in the wholesale and retail sales environment along with experience in new business development (prospecting). Experience in the pool and spa sales industry is strongly preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of good business practices and strategic planning as well as strong decision-making and analytical skills is needed.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to develop compelling content and communicate effectively in both writing and presentations to top management, dealer networks, public groups, and/or internal staff.

Must be proficient with MS Office Applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Knowledge of and experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce, is desired.

Ability and willingness to travel ~25-35%. Must be able to travel both domestic and international. Valid driver's license with good driving record is required.
