Position Summary:

This position is within HARMAN's Professional Division and specifically the North America Business Development team.  The team is looking for someone to develop and execute strategies to increase revenue amongst our rental and production partners in the USA.  In addition to driving increased sales, this position is expected to develop and maintain valued customer relationships, expand the company's current customer base and develop and maintain professional selling skills.  The business development function will work closely with the solutions managers to ensure the product pipeline is sufficient to meet the needs of our tour sound business.


Supervisory Responsibilities: 

This position does not have any direct reports.


Job Responsibilities:

This position will work closely with the USA channel sales team and the Business Development team to drive programs consistent with the organization's long-range strategic goals and objectives.  He/she will build a cohesive strategy for engaging and developing relationships in the touring and rental market that ultimately lead to an increase in business.  Essential responsibilities will include:

*Responsible for generating new business, expanding current customer base, initiating sales process by scheduling appointments; making initial presentation; understanding account requirements. *Responsible for writing and submitting professional proposals, close sales by building rapport with potential accounts; explaining product and service capabilities; overcoming objections; preparing contracts. *Follow up on all sales leads in a timely and effective manner; expand sales in existing accounts by introducing new products and services; developing new applications. *Maintain relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities. *Make necessary sales presentations to customers and management as requested *Acquire and maintain sound knowledge of all product lines and services offered, identify industry trends, and market activities.

Basic Qualifications:


Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sales or Engineering

*At least 5-7 years of experience preferably within the loudspeaker and acoustics industry, specifically focused on the needs and applications of live production
