The Business Continuity and

Operations Risk Management Specialist (BCM Specialist) is a significant

contributor to Chubb’s overall Readiness for, Response to, and Recovery from

business interruptions.  This position is

primarily focused on North American operations but will be expected to support

aspects of Chubb’s global business continuity program.  Domestic and international travel (20-30%) is



This position requires an

experienced professional who can provide subject matter expertise in business

continuity.  The BCM Specialist is

expected to work with minimal supervision while providing business continuity

planning, training, exercising, and assessment services to their assigned

corporate locations and lines of business. 


This position also requires

subject matter expertise in incident management.  The BCM specialist schedules and presents

incident management training and exercise events at assigned Chubb

facilities.  As part of the Business

Continuity & Operations Risk Management Team, the BCM Specialist supports

the Corporate Incident Management Team (CIMT) during exercises and actual event






Continuity Program:


with the Business Continuity Coordinators from assigned lines of business to

ensure Business Continuity program components (Business Impact Analyses, Risk

Assessments, etc.) are updated and meet established standards.  Provide written and verbal subject matter

expertise in business continuity.


lead, and evaluate business continuity recovery exercises designed to test

Chubb’s capabilities for resuming critical business functions through alternate

locations and methods.  Identify

corrective actions.


the adequacy and completeness of business continuity capabilities of assigned

third-party vendors.  Provide written and

verbal feedback on corrective actions.




with Site Incident Management Teams (SIMT) at assigned locations to schedule

and deliver training and exercises designed to enhance site-specific incident

management skills and the resumption of critical business functions.  Provide written and verbal subject matter

expertise in incident management.


news and weather services for events that may impact company employees,

facilities, operations, or systems. 

Assist in the development and distribution of incident communications

through a number of broadcast mediums.

As a

member of the CIMT, provide composed support to incident response operations

that are often in a fast-paced and dynamic following natural disasters and

man-made emergencies.  When required, be

available to support CIMT operations at irregular work hours, sometimes

including nights and weekends.

Degree from an accredited college or university.


and experience in business continuity planning, training, and exercising

commensurate with 4-8 years of experience.


and experience in incident management methodologies commensurate with 4-8 years

of experience.


presentation skills as both an instructor and facilitator.


ability to tactfully work with representatives from all levels of a large,

multi-disciplinary organization.


proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);

SharePoint; Microsoft Outlook; Web-based communications tools; and

internet-based research.


ability to take directions and work independently or as part of a team while

performing work in a sometimes fast-paced, demanding environment.


ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects with competing priorities and

still deliver high-quality, on-time products.


written and verbal communications skills.


U.S. driver’s license




degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security or other related field;

Graduate degree strongly preferred.


Certification in Business Continuity and/or Emergency Management (e.g.,

Certified Business Continuity Professional, Certified Emergency Manager, etc.)


working as part of a Business Continuity Program in a large, complex

organization.  Business Continuity within

the insurance industry strongly preferred.


working in a military or first-response organization utilizing the National

Incident Management System (NIMS), Incident Command System (ICS), or other

incident management methodology. 

Experience as a NIMS/ICS instructor strongly preferred.


working outside the United States with multiple nationalities and cultures is a

plus; Language proficiency beyond English is strongly preferred. Chubb is the world's largest publicly traded
