Business Analyst','01MXZ','!*!Monsanto has an exciting career opportunity for a highly motivated, hands-on Business Analyst to join our Finance team.  This position will be responsible for providing financial, analytical and operational support to the global vegetable R&D organization along with a team of three other analysts and the R&D Finance & Operations Lead.

This position is a very good opportunity to express your analytical, relationship and internal customer orientation skills by providing managers the support they need to run the business accurately from a financial point of view.  As a Business Analyst at Monsanto you will have the opportunity to make an impact in the organization by utilizing your skills to analyze spend, research variances and create presentations to help management understand the financial implications of decision making.

Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis – Responsible for global forecast, budget and long-range plan (LRP) processes / consolidation, analysis and reporting which includes:

Coordinating, compiling and analyzing forecast/budget to actuals and prior year including variance analysis

Working with Cost Center Managers, Station Management and the Leadership Team to understand key critical accounts and causes of variances

Preparing and evaluating monthly reports to track results versus goals for management

Mapping and identifying possible upsides/downsides

Business Analysis - Responsible to update and analyze the main performance indicators and results to support the decision making process; maintain historical records, analyze trends and develop meaningful insights

Processes Improvement - Challenge the assumptions and propose changes/improvements in the process and tools

Planning - Anticipate and organize activities to optimize the information flow; recommend and interpret budget policies and procedures

Leverage financial systems for efficient reporting and analysis needs

Strong interaction with regional controllership to ensure integrity, accuracy, and accountability for business results

Support in preparation and development of presentations for a variety of audiences within the company including management

Assist with training/education of financial systems to non-finance colleagues','!*!Required:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration

3  years of Finance, Accounting, or related field experience

Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills and ability to communicate with different reporting levels in multi-national and cultural organization is required

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to learn quickly, challenge the status quo, and to establish solid relationships

Self-motivated and ability to manage multiple assignments

Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

Desired:

International business experience is a plus

Prior financial analysis and analytical modeling experience

Prior experience with SAP, Microsoft Access

Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Access
