Brand Manager, Livingware Innovation

North American Consumer Business is currently looking for a Brand Manager, Innovation for our Living ware business which includes the Dixie® brand and other customer brands.  This role will lead development of an innovation pipeline aligned with the category vision.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

Responsibilities:

Strategy

Develop an innovation agenda based on consumer insights, business strategies and advantaged capabilities.

Seek challenge/input and influence senior leadership along with key cross functional stakeholders.

Steward and drive innovation initiatives from conception through commercialization.

Insights and Business Analysis

Develop in-depth reviews (POV) on and recommendations for categories/segments/spaces of interest based on the evaluation of existing market/category structures, category and product economics and consumer needs white space.

Uncover deep consumer and business insights through traditional and non-traditional experimental approaches.

Strong bias for learning through well-designed experiments to optimize development sequence that will maximize knowledge creation and minimize waste.

Innovation & Consumer Communication

Drive product and non-product innovation from idea to execution.

Manage consumer insight-driven idea generation process

Mitigate risk by prioritizing small and big, disruptive bets and strongly leveraging experiments to validate assumptions and refine approach.

Partner closely with key cross-functional team members (including sales, operations, strategic sourcing, consumer knowledge, legal and finance teams) to develop holistic business case for innovation initiatives.  Provide strong economic thinking to support initiatives.

Develop briefs for product and packaging design and in-market test support tactics.  

Recommend consumer communication path to convey key benefits and reasons to believe to the activation team.

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher

At least 4 years of business, marketing or product management experience is required

Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and teams

New product development experience (i.e. line extensions, new categories, etc.)

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA

Understanding of marketing research processes and methods.  Knowledge of AC Nielsen or IRI.

Innovation experience

Start-up or incubator experience.

Strong entrepreneurial spirit

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

Visionary leader able to clearly frame and communicate opportunities, and deliver results via collaboration with cross-functional resources.

Strong fit with the Principles of Market Based Management®, including a strong problem-solving capability utilizing critical thinking and economic analysis along with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Demonstrated ability to manage a wide variety of projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines and managing expenditures. 

Proven ability to be comfortable with ambiguity and to be flexible with change.

Strategic/critical thinker with broad functional experience that may include product marketing, strategic planning, financial analysis, competitive analysis, portfolio management and sales.
