Job Title: Assistant Bakery Manager (Job Code #)Department: BakeryReports To: Bakery ManagerPURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to assist and learn the Bakery Department plans and management responsibilities to promote sales and achieve profit margins, in addition to providing a positive environment for our customers and associates.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:Assists customers during their shopping experienceGreet, Offer, & Thank all customersProcess customer orders properly (quantity, quality, and price)Answer customer questionsProvide product sampling and suggestive sellingAbility to perform duties of bakery clerks, cake decorators, and bakersRecording and reporting customer requestsAbility to show customers where products are locatedFunctional Requirement:Physical: walking, bending, kneeling, able to reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weighing up to 75 lbs., equipment operation (intercom, telephone, scanner, register, scale)Mental: judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, knowledge of weights and measurements, memorization, reading, writing, & mathMaintaining a neat and organized store appearanceEnsures floors are clear of debris at all timesCleans all bakery utensils, equipment, merchandising tables, cases, food preparation services, floors, doors, walls, and storage areas according to cleaning scheduleCompacts cardboard, stacks pallets, stores and organizes overstockChecks prices and verifies sign and product priceMaintains the eye-appeal of the departmentBreaking down loads and dating productFunctional Requirement:Physical: walking, bending, kneeling, able to reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weighing up to 75 lbs., equipment operation (cardboard baler, garbage compactor, box cutter, pallet jack, ladder, mixer, microwave oven, bread slicer, ovens, rounder, sheeter, proof boxes, knives, scrapers, and scales)May occasionally be exposed to temperatures of approximately -20F - 35F while handling products in freezers, coolers and display cases.
