Prudential’s Sourcing and Procurement Group is undergoing a significant transformation initiative to maximize the value of the Sourcing and Procurement function for enterprise third party spend and agreements. As an Associate Manager in the Sourcing and Procurement Operations Group, your scope of responsibility spans procurement transactions, spend reporting/analytics, system monitoring and enhancement initiatives and supplier on-boarding. The constituencies supported is broad and includes internal end users, suppliers, other Prudential business unit leadership, Category Managers and third parties providing procurement transaction support. You must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and, on any given day, should expect to address second tier end user and supplier issues, collaborate with Category Managers in classifying spend and supporting execution of category strategies, lead system enhancement/integration initiatives, monitor third party and staff performance, address any supplier/staff performance shortfalls, and participate in RFPs. You will be pivotal in driving the strategy to onboard suppliers onto the procurement platform and for identifying and monitoring system enhancements to ease the buying process.

This role requires imagination, an attention to detail, thorough follow up, the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and the ability to view problems and system functionality from different perspectives.


Oversee/monitor Procurement operations

Work with Category Manager to identify and fill demand gaps as they emerge

Lead spend analysis to ensure that spend is appropriately categorized and internal and external stakeholders have accurate reporting to support their business needs

Partner with Category Mangers to identify non-compliant spend and as needed, to support execution of overarching category strategies

Act as SME for procurement system functionality and participate/lead in collaboration to identify and enhance system capabilities and user interface

Provide second tier support for end users and suppliers as needed

Lead new supplier and category strategy development and enablement

Participate in system’s initiatives to enhance SPG’s footprint (e.g., Sourcing Module)

Bachelor´s Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related discipline

3-5 years professional experience in a business environment

Familiarity with Category Strategies and demonstrated contribution to execution

Demonstrated project management skills

Ability to demonstrate a high degree of initiative and ability to work independently

Ability to navigate and resolve service issues

Strong problem solving, analytical and math skills

Strong oral and written communication skills

Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently

Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and technology

Strong team player

Knowledge of sourcing and procurement processes/concepts a plus; Oracle

Purchasing a plus

Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word
