Asset Planning Specialist','MDT33255','!*!Responsible for developing, administering, and reporting capital budgets for Division based on regulatory, operational and growth requirements.1. Researches and develops division capital budgets based on identified regulatory, operational, technical and business requirements. Interfaces with management and Corporate Planning to finalize and approve annual capital budgets.2. Maintains related databases and reporting systems containing financial and business related information. Utilizes data to create various budget reports as required.3. Evaluates requests and makes funding decisions for individual projects based on safety, reliability, compliance, revenue enhancement and available capital.4. Keeps management apprised on the status of meeting the capital budget goals including identifying needs and/or opportunities for reallocation of capital as may be required during a given budget cycle.5. Performs technical and business analysis on special projects and proposals. Interfaces with management as a strategic resource in determining appropriate analytical approaches, study considerations and interpreting / presenting results.6. addition to the skills outlined below – significant experience in project

management is necessary, with a degree in engineering or MBA preferred.  A

PMP certification is a plus.  This role requires a person to understand

the financial, scheduling and broad technical implications of MDTX and APT projects. 

This

role requires excellent verbal, written and presentation skills to communicate

with all stakeholders as well as leadership on complex matters that are technical and/or financial in nature. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting or Business Administration and four years progressively responsible professional experience in general accounting, utility accounting or natural gas industry engineering; or2. A general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and six years progressivelyresponsible professional experience in general accounting, utility accounting or natural gas industry engineeringCOMMUNICATION SKILLS:Requires excellent verbal, written and presentation skills so as to persuade and/or influence internal stakeholders at a high level, such as senior division and corporate management, on matters of a technical or complex nature.NUMERIC SKILLS:Requires the ability to perform analysis involving ratios, percentages, algebraic operations, and/or moderately complex statistical and/or financial methods.COMPUTER SKILLS:Requires advanced knowledge of various software applications to create complex documents, reports, presentations and graphics.WORK CONDITIONS:Works in an office environment.Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, lifting and/or extended travel by automobile.Atmos Energy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
