What you will be doing

Provide technical and engineering research, support, and solutions on existing and emerging technologies for electric system assets, to include understanding impacts of use or implementation of selected technology

Lead and manage moderately complex technology implementation or improvement projects on our electric system assets;

Develop plans, alternatives, and recommendations for new load, energy storage, and generation on the distribution system in compliance with applicable laws, codes, and standards

Develop strategies and procedures and review electric system configuration and applications to ensure reliable service and improve system performance;

Develop relationships with internal and external customers and contractors, where you will be working to meet and exceed their expectations daily

Manage multiple assignments and priorities concurrently, while looking for ways to continuously improve our processes to gain efficiencies and make your job easier!

Monitor, gather, and analyze data; prepare reports and presentations; and disseminate the information to internal and external audiences

Provide general engineering support to other business activities, such as system planning and development, reliability, standards and materials, and asset management

Provide regular and critical updates to our asset management and geographical information systems that result from capital projects, maintenance, and service orders.

Participate in emergency response activities as needed or support company operations during periods of labor unrest.

What you bring

A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology in an ABET accredited program

0-2 years utility or related industry experience with a basic knowledge of engineering and operational practices applicable to electric utilities

Career ladder associated to the role so we are interested in candidates that range from recent graduates to experienced professionals

It would be awesome if you have:

Electrical discipline

Engineer-In-Training (EIT) license

Experience in a gas or electric utility

Experience with AutoCAD, Geographical Information Systems, Enterprise Asset Management systems or similar applications

Knowledge of gas/electric distribution/transmission system design, standards and codes
