Brief Description

Build custom and/or standard product from blueprints by assembling mechanical parts, components and/or products. Fits and assembles components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, engineering memos, sketches and knowledge of machine construction to construct and rebuild equipment using hand tools and power tools. Verifies conformance of parts to stock lists and blueprints using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers. Lays out hole locations and drills and taps holes on parts for assembly. Set up, fit, bolt and dowel in place large parts such as frames, brackets, etc. Positions parts and components such as motors, gear boxes, drive trains in and on frame of machine. Manage assembly time to ensure completion of assigned projects within specified time frame. Dissemble and inspect machine after testing to prepare for shipment to customer. 0-2 years of experience.  Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Key Accountabilities 

Look up and Interpret Assembly requirements in SAP

Reviews BOM, pulls parts and assembles to order

Rotate through all assembly jobs including Assembly, Water Spider, Inspection, and flex to assist in other areas as needed

Actively participate in identification and resolution of Quality and Continuous Improvement activities.

Performs startup safety and TPM activities

Performs housekeeping duties as required

Meets all production standards

Change over machines as required

Be engaged, courteous, and helpful to your coworkers  

Job Requirements

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, WORK AIDES:

Computer – SAP and other job specific software   

Measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures

Hand tools, simple automation, hydraulic presses  

Lifting devices such as overhead cranes and hoists

Engineering drawings and prints

Hours worked

40 hour work week. Some overtime may be required to meet production demands.

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

Minimum Experience:          

0-2 years plus

Necessary Skills:                 

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Ability to work with little or no supervision
