Looking through the lens of application performance objectives, the primary function of this position is to provide architectural guidance, technological recommendations and transition strategies that support the development and implementation of initiatives based on Common Delivery, Services Based Architecture, and Agility for moderately complex or single projects.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Provide strategic thinking, solutions and roadmaps while driving architectural recommendations which adhere to Application Performance Management best practices. Ensure architectural adherence and infrastructure efficiencies through blueprint and design reviews. Provide guidance to ensure Application Performance Management principles are successfully applied throughout the SDLC in support of multiple, concurrent SAFe Agile projects. Help evolve Performance practices to align with new frameworks and methodologies employed by Dev teams. Assist in the remediation of application stability and performance issues across the full stack. Support the development and production support of enterprise application utilities and models to include publishing, best practices and guidelines for supported technologies. Work with vendors and product management areas to establish required infrastructures, frameworks and process aligning with best practices. Perform product evaluations, Proof of Concepts and find innovative ways to better leverage newer technologies to address requirements. Contributes and leads to help expand eBusiness’s Center of Excellence related to Application Performance and establish foundational practices relevant to other Technical Architecture disciplines.
High School diploma or equivalent required. 1 year of technology related experience required.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Self-initiated leader who consistently delivers high quality results with limited guidance and willingly trains, guides and positively influences others.
Strong experience with Application Performance Management models; ability to define, articulate and influence process and approaches to conform to best practices.
Provide thought leadership to leverage available tool suites to enhance and improve APM processes throughout the application development life cycle as well as production monitoring. Strengths with dynaTrace products and HP Performance Center are preferable.
Experience with SAFE/Agile and Dev Ops models is preferable
Possesses experience in other technical architecture disciplines such as infrastructure, security, data networking and capacity management to help align and influence the use of these technologies to best suit application objectives as well as availability and performance requirements.
Possesses strong foundational technical skill sets & some architecture experience which can be leveraged as application use of current and newer technologies is expanded. Newer technology examples: cloud, platform as a service; such as Cloud Foundry or Azure. Familiarity with Node.js, IIS/.NET, and GitHub is a plus.
Experience with Content Delivery Networks, such as AKAMAI, and experience with leveraging CDN services to establish & implement best practice approaches related to application security and performance.
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. 2 years of product/project management and/or Software Development Life Cycle preferred.
