This is a long-term contract position which offers:\r

The contractor shall:\r
\tMaintain mouse lines in transgenic facilities.\r
\tPerform PCR for genotyping of mouse transgenic lines.\r
\tIsolate follicular and interfollicular keratinocytes and fibroblasts from human and murine skin.\r
\tMaintain skin cell culture of primary keratinocytes and fibroblasts.\r
\tPerform transfection and transduction of skin cells.\r
\tPrepare DNA, RNA, and protein.\r
\tPerform western Blot, immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence.\r
\tEstablish RNA-seq procedures and maintain database of results and data analysis.\r
\tTroubleshoot issues with technical procedures; utilize trial/error methods to customize protocols to the biological system utilized in the laboratory (skin).\r
\tCommunicate and work with staff on the training of LSB personnel on experimental procedures.\r
\tEnter purchase requests and re-stock supplies for the laboratory.\r
\tUpdate and maintain laboratory notebooks and databases.\r
\tCollect, analyze and interpret data; prepare reports and summaries.\r
\tAttend laboratory meetings; present findings based to experimental results.\r
The contractor ideally should have:\r
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in a field in Biomedical Research (Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, etc.).\r
\tMinimum of three (3) years of related experience.\r
\tKnowledge and skills in analyzing and interpreting scientific information.\r
\tIn-depth understanding of scientific research, organizational structure and laboratory resources.\r
\tKnowledge of laboratory safety practices.\r
\tStrong communications skills, both oral and written.\r
\tExcellent analytical, organizational and time management skills\r
