The Operations Planning & Analysis team, works with the Network Planning/Scheduling team and all of the various operating groups on schedule levers, crew planning levers, manpower planning, etc. with the overarching goal of optimizing the tradeoff between operability & profitability. The ideal candidate has a passion for aviation, a deep understanding of operational reliability and airline schedules, strong problem-solving abilities, and developed quantitative and inter-personal skills. As such, we are looking for someone who embodies our five values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun.Essential ResponsibilitiesSupport strategy for JetBlue operational reliabilityWork with operating groups to determine requirements/buffers that would set them up for reliable performance and analyze (opportunity) cost/trade-offs of thoseActively review JetBlue’s schedules to ensure agreed criteria are provided and look for opportunities to improve performanceAnalyze JetBlue operational performance and assess potential constraints that hinder performancePerform ad hoc operability-related projects in support of senior leadershipBuild relationships with operational partners across the systemSupport other teams including all operational divisions, Airline Planning and FinanceOther duties as assignedMinimum Experience and QualificationsBachelors’ degree in aviation, economics, mathematics, finance, or a related fieldOne (1) years of analytical experienceProficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPointStrong written and verbal communication abilityMust pass a ten-year background check and pre-employment drug testMust be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is locatedPreferred Experience and QualificationsThree (2) years of work experience in aviation, finance, management consulting, or a related fieldOne (1) year of work experience at an airline in Operations Planning, Network Planning, Revenue Management, or FinanceExperience with database querying (e.g., MS Access, SQL) and statistical packages (e.g., R, Stata)Crewmember ExpectationsRegular attendance and punctualityPotential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-noticeWell-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearanceWhen working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraftMust be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture—that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and FunPromote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standardsIdentify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))EquipmentComputer and other office equipmentWork EnvironmentNormal office environmentPhysical EffortGenerally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently.
