For the Analyst, Corporate Communications

, this means you have the desire to move and motivate, and to engage and activate our crewmembers through the written word. No day will ever be the same. You’ll be a member of JetBlue’s workgroup communicators team, a group of internal corporate communications professionals responsible for ensuring our frontline crewmembers receive a steady stream of communication on key programs, initiatives and events. This particular role will be responsible for internal communications to the Airports workgroup, JetBlue’s largest and most diverse workgroup. You’ll be writing via multiple mediums for the more than 8,000 Crewmembers in our Airports workgroup.

The Analyst, Corporate Communications will report to the Manager, Corporate Communications. The Analyst is a passionate writer – someone that likes crafting engaging and compelling content each and every day, no matter the channel. The Analyst will assist with the development and implementation of internal communications activities that communicate the JetBlue brand clearly to the Airports Crewmember population and oftentimes to the company at large. Plus, you’ll have additional writing opportunities across an assortment of communication mediums.

You must be a writer first and foremost - adept at translating complex terminology into interesting and relatable communications. The information you will share with the Airports Crewmembers will enhance their understanding and appreciation for their role at JetBlue, and inspire them to be an active part of our highly-regarded Crewmember culture. Basically, you’re the eyes and ears of news for Airports Crewmembers.

Essential Responsibilities

• Collaborate with JetBlue Leadership, Corporate Communications counterparts, departments across the organization, and frontline Leaders to ensure a steady stream of timely and relevant news and events to frontline Airports Crewmembers

• Understand and deliver the JetBlue voice across multiple mediums, including print and digital

• Research, write and edit weekly, monthly and quarterly newsletters, and manage distribution across the network

• Research and write departmental announcements and notices to ensure consistent presentation

• Work with counterparts in other departments to ensure coordinated, timely and cohesive communication of cross-departmental initiatives

• Regularly publish stories to HelloJetBlue, JetBlue’s intranet site, that highlight the work of Airports crewmembers across the network

• Provide audio/visual support for JetBlue Leaders to connect with frontline Leaders and Crewmembers

• Assist in event planning and production

• Assist in crisis communication, after-hours media relations, and other communications responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager and Director of Corporate Communications

• Focus on engaging and inspiring a remote workforce

• Be fearless in asking questions, gaining clarity and reviewing details when partnering with leaders and Crewmembers

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, and/or other communications-related field

• Two(2) years demonstrated experience in communications, marketing, journalism and/or public relations

• Self-motivated, proactive and engaging personality who can work well independently or in a team environment, and across all levels of management; show initiative, produce results

• Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to work quickly under pressure, handling and prioritizing multiple assignments

• Strong sense of urgency; desire to learn, contribute and operate in a fast-paced environment

• Demonstrate professional writing skills through a work sample

• Excellent troubleshooting/problem-solving skills

• Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)

• Currently in possession of a valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States

• Able to pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

• Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

• Three (3) years of professional corporate communications or agency experience

• Prior experience with content management systems

• Prior experience in editing

• Prior experience in event planning

Crewmember Expectations

• Regular attendance and punctuality

• Ability to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

• Ability to work evenings or weekends, as needed

• Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

• When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

• Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

• Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

• Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR)
