REPORTS TO:

Director of Technology

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree Preferred or High School Diploma / Equivalent with three (3) year Office Experience

Typing (Minimum of 50 Words Per Minute)

Advanced Computer Knowledge (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher, Electronic Mail, Databases and Spreadsheets, Adobe Acrobat Professional)

Previous office experience; with increasingly responsible clerical and secretarial experience and frequent contact with the public

Previous Informational Technology experience

Ability to assist school personnel with software applications and minor networking or hardware problems

Ability to maintain budget records and prepare purchase orders and Memo charges as needed

Must pass District Technology Test

Good human relations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain administrative records.

Perform complex secretarial, clerical, and administrative detail work involving independent judgment requiring thorough knowledge of District 86 policies and procedures.

Interact with staff in a discreet, diplomatic, and professional manner.

Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Assist in the completion of Project Proposals and Grants.

Maintain and monitor accounting balance on all Technology budgets.

Collaborate with the purchasing department in relation to requisitions.

Maintain technology inventory in each building.

Assist in preparation for in-services, trainings, and other meetings.

Administer and evaluate secretarial and clerical staff technology proficiency.

Assist with updates on the District web site.

Provide front line desktop support for all District technology users.

Assist all other Administrative Secretaries with hardware and software.

Assist other departments with technology applications.

Administer District-wide online software, including e-mail (adding and deleting users and assigning rights).

Preview technology products: pricing, product quality, warranty, service, etc.

Manage the refurbishing or repurposing of old equipment.

Develop mini-instructions for users to more readily use District software/hardware/technology systems.

Devise and adopt office procedures in response to changing organizational needs.

Maintain confidences.

Perform any additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Usually, normal office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.

Employee experiences constant interruptions and inflexible deadlines. The noise level in this environment is quite to moderate. Duties are performed primarily indoors and occasionally outdoors. Indistrict and out-of-town travel required as necessary for training and/or to carry out duties and responsibilities.

Salary and Benefits:

Full Time Twelve (12) Months 8 Hours and Benefits
