This role will support the Global Chlor-Alkali Business Manufacturing and will focus on the division’s highest value plants and products.

Olin Chlor Alkali Products & Vinyls, a division of Olin Corporation, has an opening for anAccounts Receivable Specialist, located in Houston, TX. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage the Collections processes for assigned accounts receivable portfolio in compliance with established policy, procedures and internal controls.

Essential Job Functions:

Daily monitoring of assigned customers for timely collection

Contact delinquent customers to resolve issues within established guidelines

Document status and maintain SAP collection notes and collection workbook current

Assist Credit analysts/manager in investigations to help resolve credit block issues due to collection delays or required changes in terms to support volume increases

Recommend actions on delinquent accounts, by developing risk based approach using historical customers experience and trends, prioritizing accounts based on account balance or past escalations

Communication with the customer service/sales order processing teams to resolve open items and solicit assistance for orders

Maintain compliance with SOX internal control documentations and related assessments, making changes and recommendations for change as necessary.

Maintain reporting to communicate results of collection activity and performance against metrics such as DSO, % past due, # of debit/credits issued

Coordinate resolution of customer issues, including short pays, disputes, pricing issues by engaging required resources both internal and external

Meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly strict closing deadlines

Create requested adjustments (e.g. debit/credit memos), as requested, after verification of appropriate approvals per applicable policy and procedures

Develops and maintains customer relationships while achieving timely collections

Maintains desktop procedures for area of responsibility

Provides requested documentation and support to internal and external auditors as required for area of responsibility on a timely basis

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor degree required in Business, Accounting, or Finance discipline

Minimum 3 years of related experience required

Proficient in SAP Credit and Collection modules

Experience in managing compliance with established internal controls procedures

Proven ability to build strong relationships with cross functional teams

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor

Exceptional organization skills to track, maintain timely documentation, and manage status of multiple customer accounts, adjustments, and approvals

Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office package – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Problem solving skills and attention to detail
