Auto req ID57435BRJob DescriptionThis role will be responsible for conducting key general accounting activities such as Month End and Quarter End close, Intercompany, Fixed Assets, Financial Reporting, Account Reconciliations and General Ledger for the NA region. The objective of this role is to enable NA Finance SSC to meet their business objectives by providing quality general accounting analysis and overall business support for the Center Leadership and local division / country colleagues.Key Responsibilities: Monitor and control activities related to General Accounting (GA) processing system(s) to assure correct accounting reportingSupport components or portions of the GA responsibilities inclusive of Intercompany, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Reconciliations, Month End Close, Statutory & Financial Reporting, and US GAAP General Ledger reportingPrepare reports of findings and recommendations to Regional Center Finance leadershipPerform period end financial close activities and meet all related deadlinesPrepare monthly journal entries as neededFacilitate quarterly Balance Sheet review meetingsHandle accounting policy and procedure inquiries, ad hoc reporting and analysis requests, provide periodic customer/center trainingEnsure customer needs and relationships are fulfilled and enhanced through proactive involvement and interactionServe in a liaison role with the North America Finance departmentsAssist General Accounting Lead and General Accounting Team Leaders as needed; participate in or lead special projects that require creative and analytical skillsDevelop and assist in automating processes utilizing innovative technical and processing solutions Support necessary financial applications Maintain complete and accurate standard operating procedures and support control documentation requirements (SOX) where requiredExperience with SAP, JDE, Oracle preferredFluency in English RequiredMinimum Requirements/Qualifications: BS Degree or equivalent in Accounting is requiredCPA/MBA preferred, public accounting experience a strong plusMinimum 2 years of experienceProficiency in PC skills (MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint) requiredStrong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups and individualsDemonstrated ability to work on own initiativeStrong verbal and written communication skillsExperience with SAP, JDE, Oracle preferredFluency in English and Spanish RequiredPosition TitleAccounting Analyst IICountry / State – CityCosta Rica - LagunillaJob CategoryAccounting/AuditingThermo Fisher Scientificis an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability or any other legally protected status.
