Position Overview
The Legg Mason US Sales organization is currently seeking an Account Service Manager to support the Retail National Account sales team. The position primarily entails supporting the day-to-day needs of assigned National Account Managers and home office clients as well as managing cross functional initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with high client services standards and puts team success first. This position is based in New York, NY or Stamford, CT if needed.
 
Key Responsibilities & Duties Include, but not Limited to
Project Management

Function as an extension of the Retail National Account teams when partnering with Marketing, Product, Business Management and Shared Services. Advance the needs of the business by managing the following initiatives:

Support the client acquisition process from the initial RFP stage to contract execution and operational onboarding for mutual fund, separately managed account and ETF mandates.
Coordinate client events, including Legg Mason hosted due diligence meetings, road shows and partner firm conferences.
Coordinate materials for client meetings.
Gather and respond to periodic requests for information with a knowledgeable and systematic approach.
Apply creative critical thinking skills to streamline processes to ensure optimal efficiency and consistency for the sales and service teams while also continuously working to evolve the overall client experience.   

Client Service and Client Outreach

Obtain in-depth knowledge of assigned partner firms, including but not limited to, understanding platforms, product availability, pending shelf space opportunities and firm research themes. Align the Legg Mason sales force to partner firm initiatives by crafting proactive communications to help position Legg Mason\u2019s investment solutions within the context of each partner firm.
Uncover industry and firm trends by leveraging third party research and partner firm intelligence to help identify new opportunities for growth at the financial advisor and shelf space placement level.
Develop client relationships by providing back-up support for assigned Legg Mason National Account Manager(s) and serving as primary point of contact for ad hoc inquiries.
Coordinate and participate on client calls and attend client conferences/meetings upon request.

Communications

Partner with Sales Manager(s) to author business plans, strategy presentations and client activity guides.
Manage client communication process to ensure smooth and consistent delivery of Legg Mason updates, including but not limited to product changes and product launches.

Ideal Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience;
Minimum of 5 years industry experience preferred;
Meaningful understanding of the investment industry;
Superior verbal and written communication skills;
Motivated self-starter with ability to creatively implement tactical initiatives;
Solid project management experience;
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task;
A self-motivated individual who can deal with changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
