Whats the opportunity?
The Account Development Manager provides proactive sales support by functioning as the primary business partner and point of contact for accounts for their designated Sr. Account Executive, team or assigned accounts. The position solicits additional repeat business and functions as a liaison between brokerage sales and other departments to address and resolve customer issues. Provides ongoing sales support functions for Carriers and Customers in their Sr. Account Executives or personal assigned book of business. Works independently as a business partner for their Sr. Account Executive or for their brokerage team to ensure a high quality customer service experience while maintaining and growing their book of accounts.
What will you be doing?
Proactive daily sales and customer support management of accounts for sales. Responsible for working with Account Executives and the Manager to grow C and D accounts to the A or B level.
Proactive, outbound contact to current customers to solicit additional repeat shipments, uncover and address any service issues, and maintain primary ongoing communication with accounts.
Inbound initial contact for new quote requests from customers. Responsible for set-up and reporting of service issues via phone / email. Responsible for managing issue resolution process for customers.
Provide back-up sales support when Freight Brokers, Manager, or other Account Coordinators are out of the office. Call quoters, field calls, and book freight as needed.
Initiates Service Tickets when unable to resolve issue in a single call. Investigates, opens and manages details of ticket process to insure appropriate resolution. Process additional credit requests and gather credit applications and communicate with credit representative for updates to provide additional information as needed to the customer. Function as escalation point and serve as liaison for managing issues through various service departments.
Function as quote expert for the team and works directly with carriers to obtain solutions which fall outside our standard pricing such as rail quotes, partials, spot quotes, expedited quotes, etc.
Evaluate teams weekly adjustments and work with Freight Brokers and Manager to identify alternative products or process solutions to prevent additional future adjustments on accounts.
Must demonstrate commitment, dependability and respect for other employees with regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule of availability.
What are we looking for?
High School Diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred.
Previous transportation, sales support, and / or customer service experience preferred.
Able to multi-task; provide excellent customer service/support; excellent time management skills; attention to detail and organization in addition to prioritizing is pertinent.
Be an employee with regular, dependable and prompt attendance. Anyone who has exhausted all PTO for the year may be disqualified from applying at the discretion of management.
