AVP, IT Delivery Lead

Scope/Responsibilities:

Manage IT delivery for development and implementation of multiple projects/programs for the Small Commercial IT team.

Develop & maintain project documentation, including charters and scoping, measures of success, project plans, weekly status reports, issue tracking/escalation/resolution, and financial tracking/forecasting.

Collaborate with the appropriate internal and external groups as required by the project/program, to align schedules and budgets as needed for the project/program.

Manage and maintain relationships with multiple services and software providers on the program.

Identify and align the right resources from Small Commercial IT and other groups, both employees and vendor partners as required for the project/program. 

Ensure technical/architecture reviews of solutions are conducted appropriately leveraging the Enterprise Architecture Group. 

Liaise with technology and business organizations to ensure engagement and project progress.

Facilitate team meetings and work sessions.

Communicate regularly in accordance with agreed upon communications plan.

Prepare and deliver formal presentations on project and status for business and technology leadership.  

Where necessary, participate in creation of functional and technical specifications.

Enable transition to an Agile-based operating model.

Determine the right sourcing model depending on the type of project/program, and manage contractual commitments with vendor partners.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements:

Experience leading and managing large complex cross functional projects in accordance with a formalized project methodology required.

Insurance background required; preference for experience in Commercial Lines systems implementations.

Experience is enabling Agile transformation/implementation in medium to large projects/programs is required. Industry certification in SAFe/Scrum Alliance

preferred.

Experience implementing Insurance platforms is a plus.

Ability to manage projects in a dynamic development environment; demonstrated project delivery required.

Strong ability to identify, understand and communicate business needs for technical projects.

Strong analytical skills and influence skills to achieve results.

Experience in understanding and communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

Excellent written/verbal skills; ability to effectively communicate across all levels is required.

Ability to interact well with senior management; strong presentation skills.

Ability to motivate team members and effectively delegate responsibilities to ensure timely delivery
