Function: Operations

Title: 3rd Shift Material Flow Team Leader - 41628

Your Responsibilities

As a 3rd Shift Material Flow Team Leader at Des Moines Works in Des Moines, IA you will Lead 3rd shift Material Handling operations for the Sprayer Business Unit. In addition you will:

Complete daily time reports

Promote culture of safe material handling

Participate in Material Availability Improvement Teams (MIT), ECM shop floor changes and CI200 process

Perform daily material handler start-up meeting

Deploy material flow execution metrics to shop floor

Drive execution of designed replenishment processes , including E-Kanban, Trailer unloading, material delivery and tracking, yard management, laydown and supermarket audits and reverse logistics of empty containers

Manage and communicate manpower changes to support production line

Assist in identifying root cause of part availability issues

Develop and maintain material handler standard work, train new material handlers and perform material handler certification process

Support material flow pilots (i.e., Conveyance, Scan to Location, E-Kanban, etc.)

Work closely with supervisor to align processes to optimize factory material handling

What Skills You Need

Experience with Order Fulfillment Process

Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Quick Response Manufacturing, Just-in-Time, Kanban, Demand Flow Technology

Experience with material flow and visual management

Experience with process planning and material replenishment requirements

Able and Willing to work 3rd Shift

What Makes You Stand Out

Knowledge of unit processes and operations

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Access, Excel

Experience using SAP, specifically MM (Materials Management), LES (Logistics Execution Systems), and PP(Production Planning) modules

1 or more years of experience with factory structure and processes and value stream mapping

Demonstrated experience with interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution

Education (or equivalent work experience)

Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Management, or Engineering technology discipline
