Our undergraduate summer internships are a great way to gain confidence, sharpen your skills and make a difference. You'll work side by side with people who value your enthusiasm and creativity.

During the summer program, you will also participate in:

A cross-functional project that provides solutions to a real business issue Aetna is facing, and the chance to present their recommendations to senior leaders at the end of the internship

Aetna is taking on a major initiative to redesign and rebuild many of its customer facing digital assets. This effort will include a completely new approach to building software within Aetna, using the latest design approaches, technologies, and processes. Aetna Digital, a newly formed startup like business unit within Aetna, will design, build and deliver completely new and integrated digital experiences for our users.

What will you do?

You’re going to help us re-shape healthcare for America and across the globe for generations to come. How? You’ll work in the trenches with our Product Design team taking a user-centered approach to solving tough design problems. You’ll help with the production of prototypes, guerilla testing, creative reviews, and final, high-fidelity designs.

What do you bring?

Understanding of usability and the psychology around decision-making, especially with digital product”

Solid understanding of and respect for the technical limitations of mobile and web product

Ability to produce original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design problems

Comfortable white boarding and using OmniGraffle, Sketch, Invision, or similar

Ability to assist with design wireframes and prototypes for Product and Engineering teams

Be the voice of the user throughout the design and development process

An insatiably curious spirit looking to learn

You’re eligible to apply if you:

Are currently enrolled in college pursuing a relevant undergraduate degree with an anticipated graduation date after August 2018

Majoring in Computer Science, Web Development, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a similar

Have a current cumulative GPA and major GPA of 3.5
