Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Program Management Office (PMO) Intern to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Woodlawn, MD. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Health Solutions business unit which focuses on Healthcare IT solutions for our federal, state, and local government clients.

The PMO Intern will learn to apply a thorough understanding of project management fundamentals, including familiarity with Project Management Institute's (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and it associated process groups and knowledge areas. Assist the PMO to organize program processes and procedures. As well as assist Program Managers with project planning, execution, and monitoring of client programs, including project tasks, and resource tracking.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Program Management Office, the PMO Intern will assists and supports the PMO office in (areas of specific interest include Communications, Analytics, and General Administrative functions). Utilizes Microsoft Office products; prepares spread sheets with data interpretation. Performs related duties in support of project efforts (e.g. design, monitoring, data extraction, research and reporting), in areas of performance monitoring, outcomes and compliance with policies and rules. Provide support with project meetings (schedule project meetings, assist with project documentation, document meeting minutes, and project action/task items). Create/analyze process workflows to increase efficiency with cross-functional departments and programs. Develop requirements analyzing data trends, creating reports; supports project and initiative alignment efforts with NGC vision, mission and goals. Create and maintain online files. Draft internal correspondence. Perform general and/or clerical duties as assigned. AdditionalPMO Intern tasks may be identified as follows:

Learn and manage the PMO SharePoint site.

Assist in creating and updating PMO management plans.

Assist PMO in developing and updating standard templates for use for program use.

Track and identify project’s monthly notable achievements.

Assist in monitoring the project’s Contract Requirement Traceability Matrix (CRTM) and compliance to the Statement of Work (SOW).

Assist in preparing for program audits and reviews.

Prepare and submit project status and client summary reports.

Attend meetings and capture meeting minutes.

Maintain project team roster.

Develop monthly program highlights for the division newsletter

Basic Qualifications:

Actively enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or doctorate program preferably in Project Management, Business Administration or IT Administration from an accredited institution.

3.25 GPA or higher.

Experience writing, editing and producing technical and project related documentation.Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication for project summaries and presentations at all levels.

Strong analytical abilities.

Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with critical partners, both internal and external.

A proven ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks, changing requirements and priorities, and short deadlines.

Must be US Citizen or Green Card holder

Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust designation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

Experience working with the federal government, specifically the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.

Knowledge of project management best practices.
