Summer associate program

The firm's summer associate program is eight-week program. The firm provides its summer associates with a wide array of challenging and interesting assignments that reflect the real work of the firm. Students receive hands on training that include drafting transactional documents, facilitating closings, and helping in preparing motions and briefs. Students are treated as integral members of the firm and encouraged to handle complex business deals and hotly contested cases. Students also attend client meetings and assist in deposition trials. Students are also encouraged to participate in pro bono matters. The firm believes that such exposure helps the students to gain a realistic sense of what their work life would be as a junior associate and to assess and evaluate the practice areas and identify and locate their areas of interest. While summer associates and the firm's attorneys work together in the office, they also have the chance to interact with one another in a more casual and friendly atmosphere during the many social events held outside the workplace. Summer associates are paired with an associate mentor and a hiring committee advisor to guide them through the summer. Work is given through an assignment coordinator, and typically they are expected to complete at least 11 to 15 assignments over the course of the summer. The firm says that its summer program has two overriding goals: to train young attorneys to become the best practitioners possible and to make life in the workplace fulfilling, rewarding, and enjoyable.
