L C James & Associates

LC James Associates was founded in 1969 by visionary and entrepreneur Luther C. James. As an insurance underwriter for Pilot Life Insurance Company he created a strong relationship with many of his clients. Repeatedly asked for advice on where to go for help or how to file their personal income tax returns, Mr. James saw a need that he could fill for his existing and future clients; people he called his friends. After doing his due diligence and completing the prerequisite training and certification to become an income tax preparer, he began offering this valued service to the folks who had requested it. This "extra service" didn’t take long to grow into a full time business of its' own. And, the LC James Tax office was opened. Eventually, additional client services were offered when the need for bookkeeping and accounting services developed. Also, what began as simple income tax preparation evolved into income tax & accounting consulting. The firm name was changed to LC James & Associates to better represent the growing staff. After, successfully leading his company for thirty years, in 2009 LC James took semi-retirement and proudly turned over the leadership reins to his daughter Jennifer. Still involved on a part-time basis, he serves as a Senior Tax Consultant.
